F7r = 2.0 16v = 150 bhp.
B18FT = 1.8 8v turbo = 125

But NA tuning a F7p/r gets quite expencive above 160 bhp or so...Tuning a B18FT is loads cheaper. Chip it, and youve got 155 I believe. And then there are loads of improvements to make, untill you reach upper capacity of the engine.

Are you glad enough with approx max 160 bhp? Stick to F7p/r. B18FT is a lot more difficult and expencive.

Edit: I think the biggest deal is just the feeling about it. I love that square F7p brick that rev's like hell...Others like the 'PSSSSSsssh!'
indeed 160bhp would do me.I only need the front seats too, so there's not too much weight at the back left either...

p.s. I'm one of the "others", although I dont care about DV's, I prefer what most would call compressor-stall, or wastegate-chatter...and I also like the pull larger turbo's give once they come on boost!!! :twisted:

yea the 1.7 turbo from the 480 is great imo. 125hp stock and 175 with rich mod is ace...but there's lots of wires and stuff.

F7p is easyer and loads of tuning stuff available from the likes of Ktec racing. same for F7r-still wires and stuff but not as bad,

then theres the swap im doing 2.0 f3r 115hp stock loads of torque, theres wires and stuff but looks quite simple now ive got my head mostly round it.

but to do any of these you need the bits from a 1.7 340 and lots of patience :)

The 1.7's turbo is also so small it kicks in nice and low down.
