Well, it's the only carb I've every seen with the second venturi's jet is smaller than the primary, but nah, PTF wasn't tuned properly when Mick get her, I'm not even sure we checked the jet sizing against the book values now, it was a long time ago, and we prolly did. It was running shocking though, getting 30ish to a run at best at one point.
Finally got it all back together this afternoon and took it for a test drive. It's running really lumpy whenever it's not under power, although it's fine when you put your foot down
I thought this might be due to the carb setup, but Chris reckons this is ignition timing, and can only be adjusted by changing the renix to match the cam. Has anyone got any other ideas, or a spare GLT renix I could try?
Its neither the carb or the timing. Well, not altogether anyway.. Its the cam it will run lumpier on the A cam than the Y or L or whatever's in the carb one.
A GLT Renix might have a higher ignition advance at idle than the GLE cam, but tbh I would change the cam over, its an easy fix and it'll make the jetting all correct again.
Well I thing it is timing in a way. when you put the cam in did you put the cam to the correct side of the timing mark? It should be set slightly to the right.
