2.0 F7R spark problem

Hi, I'm fitting an f7r engine in my 1987 340 gl. I've fitted the engine, loom and ecu, new fuel system, and ignition system. Amongst many other little things. I have a problem at the coil, there's power going in but there's nothing coming out. It's a brand new coil pack for a Clio Williams, it has two plugs, one from Volvo loom and one from Clio loom. Leads and plugs are new also. I'm confused?

What exactly do you have from which loom? Power on the 3 pin plug from volvo loom and two pin plug with single wire in it from renault?
What flywheel are you using?

The coil and module are brand spanking new. Will try another but I only have a 1.8 coil. The wires are as you say, adz, three pin connector from Volvo and one single wire from Renault loom in a two pin connector. I think I'm using the 1.7 flywheel I'm not 100%. How can tell the difference?

Yeah I'm using the crank sensor from the Renault loom. I got the engine from Nev, ring any bells?

The loom and engine were previously fitted in a Volvo. So the loom has been cut about to loose unnessasarry wires. I didn't hear it running but was assured it all works fine. I bought it from a local garage who is a trusted friend of a friend.

Genuine williams ECU then. Can you take pictures of various elements of the installation. I'm almost putting this down to a loom problem.
What exactly are the symptoms?

I've got hundreds of photos but because I use my phone for most of my Internet I'm having trouble loading pics. Where do post pics? Here? I've tried using the renix coil and the same probs occur. No output. I've chased the wires to and from the ecu, two in from crank and one out to coil, all have continuity and the crank sensor works fine when placed over an earth. I did notice last night I had left the capacitor off the coil, however, no improvement. Grrrr. Thank you, Adam
