Re: Spring Cups
My opinion is:
#1 a new strut is better of course!
#2 Klokkerholm (who supplies Hadrian) is the only manufacturer AFAIK of weld-on spring cups for the V300, so good or no good you don't have much of a choice
. Mine have lasted a year and a half, so far, but I'll be fitting new struts soon - definitely better in the long term.
Cheers

Re: Spring Cups
Been running my 360 for 5 years on replacement spring cups that were fitted to both sides in 2006. Its the skill of the welder that does it

Re: Spring Cups
I think you'd said it in a nutshell, bogbasic. It's not the replacement cup that will fail in time, more the area where the weld meets the strut "leg". So if it's done properly, there's no reason why it shouldn't last as long as the rest of the car. After all, the cups were welded on in the factory too.

Re: Spring Cups
A half decent weld will be stronger than the steel around it, so as long as you paint it well after welding it should stay rust free for a while.
