hi there im going to be doing a 2.3t (out of 940 etc) conversion on my 360 soon, not got anything yet so im just looking for parts in advance, ideally im gonna buy a full 940 and take the lump out knowing its running and lableing the wireing etc, but if anyones got the engine and loom let me know?

im after a solid flywheel (you know what i want) maybe clutch to go with it,
maybe a spare 940 engine loom,

tbh my minds gone blank atm so i will update this when i remember because i know there's more i need but that will do for now

Might be better asking on TB, not too many 940s come through these parts. Or maybe even Retro Rides, I see a few b230s in the for sale section.

are there many uk members on tb? alot ive only been on quick but alot seemed to be out of the uk, i will have a look anyways and i didnt think about asking on retro rides, cheers mate

your probably better off buying a whole 940turbo and stripping it.

im currently building a 360 turbo and i have stripped nearly everything lol you dont wanna get half way and then not have something you need.

thats what i plan on doing mate, but from what i can gather you cant use the 940 or 360 flywheel or clutch, im gonna strip everything i can use and try and sell a few bits and then scrap the bugger lol,
what engine you useing in your build? let me know how you get on

engine is in at the moment just got mainly the wires to play with...

i bought a "H" reg 940 2.3 turbo.

old ones don't have a dual mass flywheel, so you can use the 940 flywheel still

keep the 940 clutch just use the 360 release bearing and disk.

use the 360 oil pump and sump.

the 360 alternator, water pump and pully. use the 360 mounting brackets.

the actuator for the turbo there are some clearance issues with the engine mount on the o/side.

you have to make a custom downpipe.

the 940 intercooler fits but with a few mod's.

And i can't remember the rest but i'll keep you up to date and hopefully get the pic's up to start a thread for you!

l14mnp, ive had a read through yours, helped alot mate, i couldnt find out what you got the flywheel off? hows yours running? you sorted the little problems out? was a good read

just put a link up to my facebook page for some pic's the treads called Jet.

The flywheel needs the LH-Jetronic 2.4 trigger pattern, I imagine any 940 without the big dual mass flywheel (Turbobricks will clear up the differences probably) will do fine, as well as some later 740s and 240s. The earliest 740s and 240s won't be compatible as they ran Motronic or K-jet IIRC.
