Post by Attack2001 »

Got a little problemo with the front panel on my car, can you still get the front panel? i cant afford a company to do it for me, any ideas on how to pull it out maybe? its not rusty so possibly replace the whole panel? It's just a big dent! lol It's a mk2 btw, so need that little bit under the lights :)

I was gonna use a g clamp and two pieces of wood and put a ratchet strap around a lamp post and i think you can figure out the rest  But i was hoping there might be an easier way?

I suppose you could chop and weld, prob wouldnt even need to replace the whole panel. Reckon it be a big job though. Id give hammer/lamp post idea a try first. May be teaching you to suck eggs but once it pulled out give it a sand and you'll be able to see all the high/low spots ready for hammering and filling

Drill out the spot welds and remove the panel. The crossmember/end box sections will no doubt need a little 'persuasion' too.

Surely that looks like it'll mostly pull out with a bit of artistic persuasion with wood, hammering action etc.
