You on about a red block? I'm confused, especially as you mention it's for a 360.

Sorry troop.

740s and 940s.

940s go for scrap money. So maybe do what almost everyone else has done and buy one, pull the lump, weigh the rest.

Free engine swap?

Go for it man. 300s need more turbo!!!!!!!111!!!

Have a look at mine, 123453456789876567334565433111 and wiganer31's threads for an idea mate.

It's not too involved. I'd get looking for a flywheel now though!

I'm glad SR20's are finally getting the good press they warrant. I love how cheap the iron block Volvo stuff is though. Grenade it, and it doesn't matter (if stock), just another £100 or so and you're running again.

Like I say man, check the threads, this has been asked loads. Also search for a thread by my old user OapEM where I was asking the same questions.

You need a 'dog dish' LH 2.4 fly. 360 drive train, sell the M90 box from the donor (if you get one).

And some wire cutting scissors. And patience.

Enough power! 165hp/4800 for a standard B230FT, 200+ with a little extra boost that will max out the 360 drive. No need for extra tuning or bigger turbos, although the waste gate is a bit restrictive on extra boost, the inlet has no problem keeping up the pressure.

Try the Engine tuning section, but don't try searching for 'turbo' the site software won't allow it and complains its too much.

The biggest problem is the flywheel+clutch, but you can get it to work with just the 360 clutch plate, which is usually a bit small for the 200/700 flywheels. If you get a 94-on 940 you will have to ditch the dual-mass flywheel which won't fit in the 360 bell housing.

I would buy an early (up to 1994) 940 manual as the donor, that way you get the right flywheel. Saloons will be cheaper. You miss a few goodies from the later engines (like oil squirters), but it really doesn't matter.

Read Liam's, Wiganeer and Adam's threads, and come back with any specific questions.

cheers
