volvo 360t 4x4

searching throw youtube looking at rallycross videos and i fount this a 360 turbo 4x4 looks to be a volvo engine as well on another vid and custom front tubs but thats all i can tell not sure whats been used to convert it to 4x4 anybody got any more info

well ive done a bit more research at college today as we arent doing anything being the last day here and ive foutn a build thread over on 300power i cant read it at mo as college computers wont translate but the rear diff looks like a bmw unit from the small picture ive saw its also running a hx35 anyway heres a link

ive got a translater working now and it apperas to be a bmw diffs and gearbox now its says its m50 which was first used in the e34 5 sereis i think not sure so the 4x4 system is from SUPER SUPER SUPER RARE 4x4 bmw system bit strange to use that but hey i guess it works

Some translations.

It's a former rally cross car from the 80's. It had a B21 based Group-A 242 spec turbo engine in it before. So the 80's racing history is probably the main reason for kinda exotic technical choices.

The transfer case is made by Ferguson. Both diffs are 3.0 BMW diffs and the box is a M50 Getrag. So it's kinda part from here and a part from there. Ferguson transfer case isn't a continous 50/50, it delivers power when needed. There's also a freewheel/overrunning clutch before the front diff, whichs disconnects the front diff during motor braking. Owner says it's quite archaic and nowadays there would be much better choices for a 4x4 drive line.

Engine now is a B230 from a -97 940. H-profile rods, HX35, Megasquirt etc...
