Ruh Roh! Hadrian sold to Imperial

I've been trying to get hold of a set of spring seats for someone for a couple of weeks now without success (any ideas?), and these nice people (http://www.lpponline.co.uk/) have told me that Hadrian have gone bust and been bought by Imperial (http://www.crashrepairparts.com). The bad news is that they say they have a reputation for not being interested in anything over 20 years old. There's certainly no current listing for 300 series stuff.

Hadrian's list of parts wasn't anything desperately exciting, and was bought in from a supplier in Scandinavia anyway (so all may not be lost), but it's not exactly good news.

So...questions...
1) Should we (and I'm happy to do it with my VOC hat on) make an approach to Hadrian?
2) If that fails, should we make an approach to the Scandinavian supplier (whose name escapes me, but I'm sure it wouldn't take much digging)?
3) Finally, anyone got a source for spring seats? It's getting kinda urgent!

As springs root out so much, its something that needs to be avaible, perhaps a forum agreement with the Scandinavian supplier?

I was planning give you a call Mac (of the Suffolk variety) a call tomorrow regarding this. Thanks for the suggestion. It does place me in a tricky position though, in that it's roughly double the price that the Hadrian-sourced versions went for, and I've already suggested to the lady in question that she goes down this road rather than sourcing replacement struts (and other parts have already been sourced). I will have to have a chat with her if they can't be sourced for ~£15 each. I suspect Scandix are getting them from the Scandinavians and adding a mark-up. Fine for a single purchase, of course...

I know where there is/was a stash of them, but that might prove tricky at present.

Rich - I'd be game for getting involved with a group buy, but I think we'd be better off going to the manufacturer than Scandix for that. I'll drop you a PM anyway.

Klokkerholm in Denmark is the company that makes the repair panels for the 300 series apparently, but I've a vague memory of there being a dutch label last time I ordered a panel from Hadrian. Might just be my memory playing tricks on me though. They rather helpfully always used to leave the original label on and just stick their own label on top

For good or ill I have "opened negotiations" with Klokkerholm!

They do not deal direct with the public but I am endeavoring to interest them in
me "bulk buying" selected repair panels including spring cups.

I await their reply (if any).

Had a good chat with Rich about this, and contact with Klokkerholm sounds like the best way to proceed...and Mac has beaten me too it! Good thing too...it's fairly likely to happen if Mac is involved! If you need assistance with this Mac (even just storage, etc), just let me know. I'm very keen for an arrangement with them to be made, and if I have to set up a "business" to make that happen, so be it.

Things are moving already !! even over the hols.

I have been contacted by Klokkerholms UK agent and have an agreement that they will supply me with
Klokkerholm products.

I have yet to agree final product and shipping costs but have placed an initial order for x 20 spring lower
cups. It looks like final cost FROM me will be around £14 - £15 each + postage. In my usual style I will
try to get this figure down.

I'm told that K supply their UK agent on a fortnightly basis - so it's wait and see time.

IF this works out OK I shall look at the rest of the 300 range.
