So I bought one off an OAP.
Lots of leather and wood.
Plus also has dropping back seats for a huge boot win.
Also came with some sexynumbers:
74K
200hp
I love it.
Fwd has never been so comfortable and rapid. (for me)
Outside.

Inside.

I really did not like that car, vague steering feel, not very roomy inside compared to 300 and many other points that I have probably already forgotten, but has lot of power for sure.
There are a lot worse cars one could end up with, even some french ones, so that is good choice![]()
If AC works that ride is very good at summer time, but keep eye on that speedometer, it is easy to not know how fast one is going as it is modern fwd crap, acceleration does not feel to be too much, but it pics up speed really fast, automatic is even worse as getting up to 140kph is not much effort and speed is felt only when one need to slow down.
Condition of car seem to be almost like new one, so it might give you some trouble free motoring. However if lights stay on no matter what you do, then it is central power module (or something like that) which has failed and at least here for diesel it did cost 1000 toymoney, perhaps not most common fail, but those are failing in x40 range of vehicles.
Mother's diesel V40 had such fail, also rusting from places that are hard to explain as for example top part of door frame, nothing even touches part where it has been rusting, it is rusting from quite many of such places which I find odd, but maybe your T4 is bit better in that as it is not so old.
Back is same or worse than before, I guess something is really broken from therevolvosneverdie wrote: Hows your back now dude?
Yeah, it feels like a new car and other than the battery dying over night, theres been no other problems so far.
Oddly, after 30hrs charge, the same battery has been fine ever since.
Youre right about cabin space (especially the rear). Its tighter than a 300.
The lights come on with the ignition no matter what I do, but go off with the ignition too. Was wondering if that was a "feature" or a "fault".
Depends which lightsvolvosneverdie wrote:The lights come on with the ignition no matter what I do, but go off with the ignition too. Was wondering if that was a "feature" or a "fault".
That sucks dude.jtbo wrote:

Lights coming on with ignition is actually feature, then it is problem when they won't go off when you turn ignition off.
Lights of head. Not of dash or other. But you knew that.macplaxton wrote: Depends which lights![]()
Well you could always disable them (if that works on UK models, below is from a US handbook):volvosneverdie wrote:Lights of head. Not of dash or other. But you knew that.macplaxton wrote:Depends which lights
Go on! Be a rebel!Daytime Running Lights:
The S40 and V40 come from the factory with daytime running lights activated. Carry out the following steps if you will deactivate them. These steps may be carried out again to reactivate and deactivate the daytime running lights as desired.
Programming for On or OFF

Turn the ignition key in position II.
Pull the turn signal lever towards you and hold it while turning the headlight switch to position 0.
If the green light underneath the headlight switch is on the daytime running lights are on.
