What Engine and bellhousing mounts do I need ?
Hi I'm running a f7p lump in my Volvo it had the poly engine mounts but was stil shacking a lot any know of a better mount to use thanks
Re: What Engine and bellhousing mounts do I need ?
Stick with those or replace them with new ones of the same type. have you check all the bolts, it should wobble a bit, as it's a bit of damping for the engine. If it's wobbling a lot, it either means something is loose, or the poly fronts/rubber rear mounts have failed.
I wouldn't go for solid mounts, as you need a small bit of damping for the torque the engine puts out.

Give neighbours thumbs up
Rev engine to 7K
Exit street sideways
Win at life.

I do have a bodge for the rear mounts but idealy they need new brackets makeing to take them. Chris C is running this setup with his own brackets.
In about a month I should have bolt in ploy rear mounts.

They don't fit without the new uprights, but tbh, the old pressed tin ones will fatigue with a poly mount *very* quickly anyway. Alignment is critical if you make new uprights though.classicswede wrote:I do have a bodge for the rear mounts but idealy they need new brackets makeing to take them.
