Prop

Post by Dean »

Hey I've just took my f7p Volvo out for its first drive and done a prop not even 10 miles later...

Just changed the front engine mounts and put a new prop on ( as it has previously done a prop and a bell housing!)

Has anyone got a prop or any ideas what I can do to make it stop smashing them up?

It snapped on the gearbox end

Sounds like the engine is out of line with the gearbox. I'm going to be making a loan tool for checking this with over the next week.

Yeah I thought that the front mount might sort it out, going to make the laser tool myself to test it out as I can't afford to keep buying props!

Just curious, is it common for the gearbox to actually move rather than the engine? It's something I haven't really looked at.

Yeah that could happen, gearbox mounts might be perished. Give it a good hard shake and you'll soon know.
