Clearly, I took leave of my senses over the weekend and invested in a 340 (which was also for sale on here, by the looks of it) having no prior experience of volvos and an inbuilt hatred of carbs.
So. Here's the beast:
1.7L of poor-running gas machine (it's trying to kill me, I'm sure of it).
Got a few issues... It idles like a pig. Cleaned the carb up, set the butterflies and whatnot... needed a carb to manifold gasket, so made one of those too... still won't idle below 2k! If I lower the idle to 1kish, it just stalls. Now I'm on the hunt for a new carb. If that doesn't work, I'll set it on fire :p
Also it has the hilarious issue of the wipers not stopping. The dude I bought it off reckons it needs a relay... but god knows! Has anyone else had this issue? The motor is currently unplugged.
Just ordered some bits for it: -75mm lowering blocks, a smaller steering wheel, a flat cap and a window winder (while being gassed, the drivers' side winder kept coming off in my hand, which isn't ideal).
