Mooooooo Cow

Post by SteveP »

Right, well first of all a thanks to a couple of people. Chesh for spotting and helping me take it out of the scrap car, Foggy for being the messenger, Al for a backrest swap to be sorted out on Monday and finally Andy for diagnosing the heater problem - so I didn't have to diagnose parts myself!

Anyway... time for the pimping! Met Chesh earlier in Bedford and got a rather nice leather interior from a 340GLE 1.7. We got the whole lot out in about 15 minutes, and set about getting it to fit in my car. A good job I'd taken the front passenger seat out before I left home! Saloons are no good if you want to carry something big!

I think I'll be leaving the GLT door cards in though, I just don't like the leather interior plan plastic ghetto cards!

Damn flash for showing up the wrinkles!

I also don't like the original door panels. I am planning to replace the fabric in my panels with leather or fake leather. That would look nice! Then I would also cover up that ugly panel where the window winders for the more cheap :D version used to be.
Leather, leccy windows and mirrors, snowcap, foglights, open air filter, black roof upholstery. What more do you want? >a 2.3 turbo!

Good plan! I reckon some black MK2 GLT door cards would work well. They have a plain black insert in place of the mk3 stripey insert. Thats if the rear internal door pull can be modified to fit a mk3 (cant see why not) and its a better design anyway!

the only thing you have left to do is cut off the boot and make it into a hatchback.

Plain black with no material insert. Like DL door cards!
