Photo Competition - Round 2 Sports - Voting has ended!

Post by jtbo »

I borrow again Chris's posting....

Here are the entries, this time without names ;)
Poll runs one week, until next Sunday evening/night.

ENTRANTS - Please vote for yourselves...

I let some older photo(s) to enter too, if you feel it is not ok, you can make a protest with pm against this decision, I will not reveal names or such, if more than 50% thinks my decision was wrong then we go with public opinion and remove such picture(s) from competition, fair and democratic way I believe?

Good luck :)

I think in future only new photos should be used, as otherwise the same old great photos will be used, but in this round, I say we let old entrys enter.

I don't think not using names is a very good idea, as most of us can tell who half of those belong to ;), so I'll go and say mines number 5, and is titled, 'The exhaust makes a racquet!'

Nah, anonymous is the way to go IMO. OK so I know who 2 of those photos are, but I wouldn't have guessed that one was yours MJ. Its much less chance of bias then, if you're doing it 'blind'

Old photos are OK IMO, most of us won't know if they're old or new anyway.

Here is perhaps 50-60 more or less active members, it might be we get even 50% voting activity (What? Me? Dreaming? :P), still many who does not know all cars and such ;)

But it is open subject, with experience from these two rounds we can make quite solid format.
I do plan to open discussion about few things when this round is over, including anonymous entrants and such :)

Personally, I'm not too keen on the vote for yourself idea, and TBH I haven't stuck to it on both rounds of the comp so far, resulting in 0 votes on round 1, which I felt was fair, as I wanted to vote for another picture. I don't feel that it should be stopped, just not a rule. I have absolutely nothing wrong in anyone else voting for their own pictures though!

And I agree with the anonymous pictures idea. I can spot whose a couple of the cars are, but there are one or two I'm unsure of, I hope the names will be posted next to the pics once voting is over to put me out of my misery on guessing!

Good work so far guys!

I agree that you shouldn't have to vote for your own. I reckon everyone should be able to vote for whoever's they want (even if it is their own). Maybe we could bring that in for the next round?

LOL :D Well......... a farmer I am not........ psycho.........hopefully not! Redline is correct, it's for clay target shooting purposes, of which I used to compete quite regularly. However it just so happened my first and probably last proper competition of the year was on the weekend of the closing date for the photo comp and I had a sudden inspiration for a pic. Mick is right, I've shot for Buckinghamshire, but I did shoot for England in the home international for my main discipline once.

Cheers chaps and chapesses for voting, I assume it is now my responsibility to come up with a subject or theme for the next comp? Also, should be start of the next comp just happen when I get my act together, think of a theme and get it all posted and know that I'll be about the following week at roughly the same time to sort entries and post for voting? Within reason of course, I'm not going to keep you waiting for three months before I think of something, but a couple of days maybe, Jani was super efficient on getting the second round in action after winning the first comp!

Well run Jani.
