converting from one 343 radiator to another type

Post by m4rtin »

right then, i bought a new radiator off ebay for my 343 to replace the manky looking old one. just had a good look today and realised its a different type

the one that came on the car fills through the expansion bottle like all cars do now. this is the rad in question.

note the hole on the right side that the expansion bottle goes to

now this is the new one, it fills through the rad and uses a cap on the radiator, bit old fashioned really

note the connecion missing on the right side

what i need to know is how easy is it to get the older style expansion bottle that connects from the bottom, i'd imagine this to be cheaper than getting a new radiator again?.

if thats pretty much impossible whats involved in changing to a a radiator out of a 1.4 340 as these must be pretty easy to get hold of.

right now tho i may just try and flush out the old radiator and refit that as a temporary solution.

The manky looking rad above is the 'right' one for this car ;)
