Other carbs

Are there any other twin choke down draft carbs that can be put on a 1.7 340?

thinkinjg like a DGV or a solex 40/45?

anybody?

I'm currently looking into fitting a 38dgas to my 360, but wont know until I get it. Most downdraft carbs are likely to be candidates for a swap if you don't mind making an adaptor plate or drilling some holes.

cheers is the 340 and 360. intake the same?

no, but my point is that with a little work most routes are possible

Just setting up the carbs and correct jetting thats a hassle.

The carb off a 440 is supposed to fit with only little modification

i do have a pair of 36DCNF webers lying around that were meant to go my beetle do u think one of those would fit? they are down draught carbs and they aren't doing anything else as the beetle is now off road and in bits!

I'm sure it could be made to fit but would need rejetting for the 1.7

right next question has anyone got a 1.7 carb inlet manifold lying about thast i can buy?
