Good lord, this is basically just an ordinary tidy 340, except for only having 13,800 miles on the clock. Megabucks!

I think it's a reflection of the rarity of the very best examples.

cheers

You can look at it this way:

It's a practicly new car, for a véry small price, and véry cheap to maintain. It's just an older model.

I must admit, I thought that the £500 start was hopeful, but if the car is as clean as is made out, fair play. Lets hope we see it coming out to a few shows, and hope it hasn't gone to a rallier or drifter!

Is it really? Imagine a Mk2 Golf with that kind of mileage.... that would reach a hell of a lot more than 1k, and be a far inferior car imo...

Thats the first one I've seen for a long long time that has cost more than I paid for any of my 300's (after I realised I bought my first one 7 years ago... basically the equiv of buying an S plate car now...)

It was tidy, but no matter how low the mileage, surely all the bushes would still be perished, whereas one thats had most changed, but a heck of a lot more mileage could end up feeling a lot tighter! Still, it does look sweet.

1K is not a lot considering the mileage etc, it may well have gone to someone who was tempted by the condition or a relative having one etc, as opposed to a 300 nut, and in that respect it represents a snip - a cheap car to ice away, use in fine weather etc that will stay that way and still be worth a grand in 5 years time at least.
Same colour as my recentyly-accrued one-owner GL (though of course that needs tidying!) and the same colour as a 1.7 GL I have seen locally a few times that appears to be mint and a one-owner biddy-mobile (F203 AAT, I must stick a card on the screen next time  )
Makes my new black 360GLT appear a bargain though I am intending to mint it.
Don't forget I've recently spent over £1500 doing up my grandad's old 1.4!

Cheeky pricing really - that didn't sell for £500 on ebay... and sold for £400 with no MOT not long ago, when it only needed an exhaust. Lovely car though!

Come on, you can't have something that clean on a rally ;) Coming from me... who throws his car down rutted muddy gravelly roads/fields/footpaths (oooooops, thought it was a white...) clean cars should stay minty!

A clean shell should hopefully be a strong shell-by that reasoning I'd say it would be ideal.

I await all comments eagerly.
