Yo

Post by Speedy88 »

Just bought a 340 saloon. Caught the bug about 2 weeks ago, made a rash decision at £300. Loving every minute so far :D

So I guess I'm saying... hello. My new project car:

How is that a rash decision, looks tidy and thats pretty much spot on the money for a clean one, yeah i know some of you lot pick them up for tuppence but for us mere mortals i'd say thats a fair going rate.

I'm with VND, get it slammed and roll it as it is. Has anyone actually banded standard 300 steels yet, i think that would look the Badgers nadgers, go on be a trend setter

Oh and welcome to the forum.

Ahhh thread hijacking, it never gets old. Are those steels really £80 each? Was thinking about them too, might look around for someone scrapping a 340 instead. I was thinking of keeping it the "grandad" look and tuning up the engine to leave those boy racers in my dust.

And it is a rash decision because I'm moving in a month and I've still got to sell my other banger (fiesta diesel)!

BANDED steels are 80 a go yeah.

Not normal ones.
Normal ones are cheap.
But hack them in half, weld a wide band in there, and you end up with something rather awesome:

I see, I'm not one for wide wheels although I did think about adding some white rally style ones at a later date. I prefer to keep the "wolf in sheep's clothing" look

If your going to up the power though the skinny originals won't be able to put it to tarmac very well.

I now say certainly NO rash decision, rid yourself of the Fiesta and your life will be much happier without it

thats sort of the point of banded steels.

inconspicous compared to blingy alloys.

but 16 billion percent cooler.
and lays down a lot of black.
