1.7 440 engine into 1.7 340

Post by Mills »

hi all my parent's '89 440 need non engine repairs so are not bothering to fix it, just wondering how easy the swap is as the engine has only done 35000 genuine.
Thanks, Alex

the 440 lump is fuel injection, would there be any loom issues?

If you want to keep carb goodness (or badness is some cases) then all you need do is fit the 340 manifold and blank off teh injector holes in the head.

If you want to do an efi conversion then you are going top need to wire in the 440 loom and ecu.
