Different I'm afraid... I think the 1.4 rad is fairly specific, but are different types dependent on year. Best to try Euro Car Parts for new stock

A recore is usually the cheapest way, I've had it done it once, seemed to be a good job, lasted well, was about £60 from memory.

Most of the 340 ones are interchangable. Ive recently fitted the thicker varient from a D reg in to my F reg 340

alright joe, dont belive the crack, i had a 440 one in my old car, it wasnt a straight swap, i think i had to drill 2 holes in the front panel for the feet to sit in and make some brackets at the top, but all the hoses line up except one which is doubled up on the opposite side but has a blank on it, so just swap it over. basically if you want to make it fit there is normally a way! come to the yard at the weekend sometime earlier than 4.45 and i'll show you the crack. oh yeah, dont leave all the bonnets up this time, LOL they get knackered in the wind and the engines get fecked in the rain, the parts are hard to find  !!

i forgot to say, ive just swapped my diff and gear box, if you want my old one to weld up and play with you can have it, i'll end up taking it to mountelm. your stick welder should do that job fine or ive just bought a better quality mig you could have a go with. i'm off friday and will be at my lock up durring the day so let me know if you want it and you can come and pick it up.
