Welcome to the site dude.
1.4s dont pull any trees up but theyre a great little reliable (and comfortable) dailly car, and theyre still plenty of fun in the damp.
Easy to drop (recomended) with springs and blocks too.
Extra points for retro sexyness too. :D
Nook forward to the pics.

Sorry to have to say this, but yes you can go wrong, and that would be by tramping that to death!

It looks far too clean for that happen.I know it's a moan but the majority of us on here are Volvo lovers who look after their cars and i personaly am getting a bit narked at seeing people come and go through here, buying a nice tidy car rattle canning it black drifting it to death then try to flog it back to us when it's broken for a similar price.

I appologise about the rant and have nothing against drifting or tramp drifting for that matter but can you find a snotter to start with if it's going to end up being destroyed?

I'm with stoopid^^
makes no sense.
Stripping the interior makes no discernable difference to drift performance. Just makes sure nobody will want the car after you.
Painting a car that has good paint so you look a bit more scene is rather pointless too.
The car will drift just as well if you lower it and weld the diff and leave everything else as is.
Sleeper spec.
Nobody will see you coming and the police will not give you a second glance.

That's just what I'd do though dude.
At the end of the day, you've paid your money and it's your car.

I'm shocked to even hear such thing that someone actually can even think about doing such things to rare original low mileage (future) classic

It is better I don't say more at this state of mind

Not sure discouraging new members is such a good idea. :?
I had pretty much the same plans-ish when I first got on V3M as I recall.
I learned from advice and encouragement from the people on here and decided for myself to go a different route.
Turning people away is just going to take cars away from this board, which is not a good trip.

Well certainly guy deservers a little slap from letting out such absurd and vulgar ideas from his brain, to put him back to his senses that is :D

I can't remember, did we ever shouted at you when you had such silly ideas? If not, we have to make some proper spanking session, just need to lure you into border of germany somehow and then we can get you into

Im new and handsome so gather round and listen to my hypnotising geordie drawl for a minute ...........................................................
youre feeling sleeeeepy, very very sleeeeeeeeeepy.

Ive just become the owner of a 340 and im looking to put some apprpriate alloy wheels underneath it.
Having a bit of carry on finding something reasonable looking at a reasonable price that'll fit.
Am I being unreasonable?

Ive seen a few 340s in the galleries on five spokes that look really nice but cant seem to find any whith the correct fitment malarkey.

I would buy someone a pint of beer to point me in the right direction.
Ten pints if youll sell me a set.

Im also looking to lower ther car slightly but cant find any kits that are appropriate. It it just a case of cutting the spring down? any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

AAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand youre back in the room. (clap!)
Gerroff this forum!    Wrong alloys!!! Spring cutting!!! Devil's work ...

Its a lovely origonal car that deserves to be kept in a good origonal keeping.
But then, im a tacky, sticker-loving retard.
i was REALLY looing for another cheap 340 to 'rat look' and matt black-up. But then got far ore than I bargained for when I bought this 340. Now im starting to feel a bit of responsibility to keep it honest.
It was a close shave, but im glad I didnt succum to the dark side.

:) :) :) VND, you saw the light after all ;-)

In all honesty, who cares what happens to a rust bucket. But "tramping" a minter to death, and my welcoming nature goes right out of the window.

I'm off the hook as I bought my 16V already with it "tramped" out lmao!

Can understand where you guys are coming from with Dans views but it's one of those things at the end of the day, it's his money, its upto him what he does with it, regardless of what others think, although I do understand it is ashame if that 340 of his was to get wrecked as it is tidy.

Either way I just hope it's a good car for you Dan! Hopefully all picks up with getting the AE back on the road, absolutely brilliant cars, especially with the 20v lump!
