Hi all
my cars not running all that great at the moment, fine for about 10mins driveing then you can only drive with no throttle or full throttle if I go half throttle it starts to splutter and eventually stalls. Any ideas what could be wrong?
When I had the carb in bits I noticed one of the gaskets was torn so put it back together as best as possible but im guessing this could be part of the problem so where can I get a carb rebuild kit from? tried all my local motor factors but as soon as I say carbs they dont want the hassle of tryin to find anything!
Any help is much appreciated
Regards James

Try Europarts or Gower and Lee?

Forum searched out.

more valves = more money + more chance of killing myself
but hopefully in the long run (more valves that is not killing myself)
give a few more companies a phone might even try the volvo dealer but thats a long shot

Aye. Very long shot.
Can't believe I'm the only one logged on mate.
Where's a genius when you need one.
Ending up with Me for technical advice is bad luck dude.
I could tell you a joke mind.
Me grandad wasn't feeling so well during the snow, so we took him sledging.
He felt a bit better walking up the hill,
but after that he went downhill very quickly.

I'd say your first venturi's jets are blocked. So.. lets make the assumption I'm not doing a Ben

.
First, you need to work out why they are blocked, perished fuel hose?
Take the jet and the emulsion tube out, and look for anything blocking the holes. Don't poke fuse wire down it to clean it, steel is harder than brass and those things are calibrated to a really tiny degree. High pressure air.
If you look down it, see nothing, and blast it with air and it's still the same, I am indeed wrong (it's likely, I've been pubwards) and we need to thing of something else.

I NEVER would have guessed that mind.
That's some serious specifics dude.
Fair play.

I'm going by the idea that it'd be on the idle jets on idle (both butterfly's closed) and at full throttle, both butterflys are open, so the second jet would fuel it enough, but part throttle only the first butterfly is open. So, at that point, it's soley dependant on the first jet to supply fuel, else it's go massively lean.
There are other possibilities though!
