Just a quick question out of interest..

What is the difference between the B200E and B200EA found in Volvo 360?

Does the B200EA have an O2 sensor?

Any info much appreciated to calm my curiousity. :P

B200EA was for the Australian and (maybe) some european markets. They've got an exhaust gas recirculation thing fitted - which is basically Volvo's way of cheating through any emissions tests, not sure of any lambda sensors or anything like that though.

lamda/02 sensor was only present on the B200F

According to here http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/v ... EA#p116009
The B200EA had only 150torques compared to 157-ish for the Euro engines........ and 5 less horses. Great - like I needed less powah :)

There is a way of blocking off the EGR and Pulsair pipes, no idea what's involved though.

what is the main difference between B200E and B200EA that the B200EA has less power and torq and revs higher to get that less power?

thanks for helping me clear that one up guys :D Handy info!

Did the Uk get the B200EA at all?

I'm not sure what Volvo did to get less power figures out of the B200EA, I think they detuned it so it would run better on low octane fuel, something to do with the renix I think. I think the cam is the standard B200E one.
Need someone really clever on here to explain it :)

there is a document wich described a difference in cr and such things, that could be it.

the detune isn't achieved with the renix, it could be something like a catalyst or something similar

well there is no catalyst in mine, i thought maybe is something with that exhaust gas recirculation and puilsar system :?:

EGR will certainly munch power, it's just there to reduce emissions AFAIK. Pulsair I've no idea about on the 300 but if it's anything like the landy system of the same name it pumps fresh air straight into the exhaust, again to reduce the amount of nasty bits per volume of gas coming out

well i looked at engine specifications, and think found the difference : due to run on less octane fuel the compress ratio is lowered (i think  )
thats why the piston is 2 mm shorter. that is the only difference i`ve found :)
