I can see the patern!
Here is possibly the shock ( no punn intended) The fronts as adjustables are going to be pushing towards £100 each to me!! And that is the price you will pay if you put your name down as a YES.
If you go fixed rate ( I can work out a good avarage valve rate but will not have best thing adout spax ADJUSTABILITY) they will be about £60 a more afordable option.
I hate to give a choice as it will create a divide.
I would prefer to go adjustable then make a fixed rate batch to those on a buget. But again we will need the numbers.

Is everyone still interested?

Damn right :) I expected the front to be £200 for fully adjustable anyway.... and I'd be happy to pay that when the time comes!

Im up for that, the costs are damn respectable since they are Spax afterall and custom made, along with the other suspension components you have Dai.

All in all anyone who says they are too dear needs to compare prices for kits for other cars and indeed, other volvos like the 200/700 series, not cheap at all.

BTW I will have the measurments for the lowering tomorrow for you Dai

Cheers,

Al

I'm still keen, but it will depend on when. Spare cash of that level is a randomly (seemingly) appearing thing, thing is I know I need new shockers all round, and that it will cost what ever I go for, having been for a ride in Vicky's car, I also know I want it to handle like that.....

on the contrary , 2/7 dampers from bilstein , arent that expensive .

ive been looking at mk2 escort billys and coilovers .

its just the 3 series isnt really catered for specifically .

Thats fundamentally the point - if billys were available off the shelf and bolt in for a 300, then I expect people would be interested, even if they are expensive. At the moment these SPAX offer an affordable solution to 300s handling (which isn't even that bad with new standard shocks, so one can only imagine with some adjustables!). I look forward to getting a 300 that handles nicely!

I was going to go for Bilsteins, as there's no doubt in my mind that they are the better shocks....but...there's no drop-in fitment for a 300, and the fixed rate I'd want for such nice shocks would be miserable for daily driver usage. Until I have a better idea of what I'm using the car(s) for, adjustable drop-ins seem like the best solution.

cheers

That is the idea the rate is adjustable on the car. Dead easy to do.

Yes we all know billy's would be the ultamate but we would need new strut tops aswell as the dampers. Could be done but a lot of work.

We are nearly there and only need a couple more names for this to kick into action.

Thanks
Dai

If the dampers were put on now, before the lowering would they have to changed if/when I decide to go lower? :?
