bought some new discs today and the useful and informative slip of paper inside says to clean the corrosion protection off with a 'suitable detergent'. am i to read washing up liquid or white spirit or what? any ideas?

Brake/clutch cleaner is the stuff to use, but I imagine carb cleaner or white spirit would do the job too.
