I've got myself some headlamp wipers and would like to fit them to a 360 that wasn't blessed with them originally. After a search on this forum I could only find one result which stated that the wiring should already be there to add them on............they're not.
However I'm not too bothered,I would just like to know if I can just add the necessary wires into my loom once they have been extracted from another loom?Or is there the need for extra relays and or fuses that need to be put in.
BTW as mentioned on a previous thread does anyone have an Idea as to what the MADE IN USA by ROCHESTER thing is that is fitted to my 360 is? I know that Rochester make carbs but thats about it.
Cheers people
PS the urgent rebuild is coming along in leaps and bounds, too fast to add pics but I am taking them so I will do a montage when all is done
Crank ventilation box or flame trap what have you. the wiper plug's should be there unless they have been cut out. you will need to remove bumper to fit physically. screw on to bottom of lights. have a very good look at any wires going to o around the lights. have a check for not factory tape on the loom etc. red purple and brown i think at may very well be wrong.
Ahh so thats the flame trap.I thought that the flame trap was the small black plastic box that was mounted to the block under the inlet.
Definitely no evidence of any fannying around with the wiring and no evidence of the motors having ever been fitted to the original headlights. Are there extra relays or fuses for the wiper motors? Or do they just plug in.If so I'll use the loom from the green car.
OK,unless there is a better way I'm going to cut out and follow the wiper wires up to where they end.Strange thing though,my 360 wasn't fitted with the external temp sensor but the wiring is there for it but no wiring for the light wipers which it also didn't have fitted.Weird.
I just want to be sure that there isn't an extra relay or fuse for the wipers,I dont want to be melting my loom.
After having removed all the insulating tape I managed to recover the entire hedlamp wash wipe circuit including all the earth feeds. This included all the lights, the screenwash pump and the brake fluid sensor. The wiper motors have their own timers/relays and wotnot. They are fed with a constant live and get triggered by an extra live feed that comes via the screenwash pump. Thus you spray your windscreen and this sends the 2nd live to the H/L wiper motor that then goes through it's cycle.
