Sunroof panel

Post by Fuse »

The seal around the panel (original metal one) is kinda knackered and I'm going to replace it sometime soon, so I'm asking what needs to be done so I can get the panel out. I though to ask here first so I won't dismantle anything which isn't necesary to remove to get the panel out. ;)

I've done it a few times, not difficult, but Haynes doesn't say much useful. As I havn't done it for a while, I won't give you a full run down, but I remember it to be tilt up, unscrew the panel from the white brackets (the bits that move and move the panel move) and then jiggle it a bit, and the panel is out!

Yeah pretty much what Chris says, you'll need to first pull the sunroof headlining back though by undoing the clips. Then you can undo the bolts in the plastic clips, slide the metal prongs across from the slots in the panel, then the panel will come out.

EDIT: you'll need to tilt the roof to get to the clips at the back

But be careful!!

You cant buy any spareparts for the roof hatch from Volvo any more.
The only thing they have is the seal around the roof hatch.
